Marble, travertine, slate, and limestone done properly

Natural stone is the most beautiful flooring you can install and the most demanding to install correctly. Every stone reacts differently to mortar, sealers, and the saw — and a stone job done wrong will haunt the home for decades, especially on a foundation that moves as much as ours can with the seasons. The Soto Bros crew has installed natural stone across Greater Oklahoma City for years, from marble and travertine to slate, limestone, and granite.

We supply premium-grade stone from quarries we trust, and we won't install bargain-bin stone that's prone to spalling, pitting, or breaking under foot traffic. That's part of the Orange Glove Standard — if we wouldn't put it in our own house, we won't put it in yours. If you like the look but want less maintenance, [porcelain tile](/porcelain-tile) now mimics most natural stones convincingly.

Choosing the right stone for the room

Each stone has its strengths. The right choice depends on where it's going, how much traffic it sees, and how much maintenance you're willing to do.

  • Marble — timeless luxury for bathrooms and feature areas; needs sealing and gentle cleaners
  • Travertine — warm earth tones, slightly porous; ideal for entries, sunrooms, and patios
  • Slate — rugged and slip-resistant; perfect for mudrooms, kitchens, and outdoor walks
  • Limestone — soft matte finish, classic European look; bathrooms and powder rooms
  • Granite — hardest stone available; high-traffic floors and outdoor commercial spaces

Sealing, honing, and lifetime care

Natural stone needs to be sealed at installation and re-sealed every 1–3 years (we'll tell you the schedule for your specific stone). We use premium impregnating sealers that don't change the stone's color or finish — just block out moisture and oils, which matters through a humid Oklahoma summer.

Stone can also be re-honed or re-polished if it ever scratches or dulls. We're one of the few shops in Greater Oklahoma City that does on-site stone restoration, so your investment lasts the life of the home. Every install carries the Soto Bros Promise.

Natural Stone Tile - frequently asked questions

Yes — except dense granite, all natural stones are porous and will stain without a sealer. We seal on installation day and recommend a refresh every 1–3 years depending on traffic.

Honest answer: marble etches from acidic liquids (lemon, vinegar, wine). Most homeowners love the patina that develops, but if you want it to look new forever, we'll steer you to a [marble-look porcelain](/porcelain-tile) instead.

Absolutely — stone is one of the best materials for radiant heat because it holds and conducts heat exceptionally well, which is a nice comfort during an Oklahoma ice storm. We install electric mat systems under most of our stone floors.

We keep a record of every stone we install and where it was sourced. In most cases we can match the original stone for a single-tile replacement — see our [floor repair](/floor-repair) page for how we handle spot fixes.
