Tile is the most permanent floor you can put in a home — and the easiest one to install badly. A great tile job depends 80% on subfloor prep, mortar coverage, and layout, and only 20% on the tile itself. That prep work matters even more here, since our clay soil moves slab foundations more than most regions, and an uncoupling membrane can be the difference between tile that lasts and tile that cracks in year three. The Soto Bros crew uses certified tile setters, large-format-rated mortars, and uncoupling membranes (Schluter Ditra and Kerdi) on every wet-area install so your tile lasts as long as the house.

We start with a full subfloor inspection — any deflection, moisture, or unevenness gets fixed before a single tile is set, and on older Greater Oklahoma City homes with original wood subfloors, that inspection often turns up movement that needs addressing first. We use modified thinset mortars rated for the tile size, back-butter large-format tiles for full coverage, and use leveling clips on planks and large rectangles to eliminate lippage. Showers are built with Schluter Kerdi or RedGard waterproofing, sloped pre-pitch mortar beds, and properly bonded curbs.
